When cashing up, I have noticed that sometimes the value held in the % discount area on the X or Z till roll output is correct, but does not yield the discounted total below that section.

Last night, for example, I had 1.68 worth of discounts (2 items). Let's say I have department sales totalling 201.68 (because I can't remember the actual totals). If you subtract the discounts, that should leave 200.00. Somehow the till is calculating another figure, which in my case suggests only 1.19 worth of discounts.

I asked the person on the till that day to recall the transactions and 1.68 is correct.

Anyone else come across this before?

Never heard of that before. Are you only using 1 discount key, if more is it only when a certain one is used that you get this? If not the only way to look into something like this would be to get a copy of the whole X read, would it be possible to scan one in next time it does it?

The only way, I am told, that discount is given is with the % key. I wondered if it could be that discount was only being provided to one item rather than doing a sub-total of all items and then applying %. That doesn't make sense though

I'll get a copy of a X/Z reading next time

Hi,

Even doing as you say the transactions would still all add up correctly on the X/Z readings. Keep your eye on it and try to get a copy if it goes wrong again.
