Hi. I'm not sure why it is driving you up the wall. It is the easiest function on the whole machine. Simply press the void button (infinity symbol) straight after you make the mistake, then carry on with the sale.

If you have any other problems, just let me know.

if i have entered the amount and finalised it, can i then void it or not and yes it is still driving me up the wall. If not What do you do to balance the till, or for example if somebody comes in for a refund.
Thanks
Neil

Ok. Yes, that is a refund if you have finalised with a payment key and the drawer has opened. On these machines, you do have to turn to void mode to do a refund.

After the sale has finished,
Turn the key to VOID mode (infinity symbol)
Type the price, then press the same department that you originally sold it under, then press the payment method to refund as (Usually cash).
turn back to REG mode.

that should work. let me know if it doesn't.

You should also be able to set one of your depertments to register negative amounts for refunds and such like. However, I have tried this, as reported in another thread on this site, and it dowesn't appear to be working.

The void function does work though. This is actually better than the suggested department function because you can enter the original receipt details and so put the refunded item back into the deprtment from where it was originally registered.

I might re-set my deprtment 8 back into a positive sales depertment and just use the void function.
