Please can any one assist me with changing the defaulted 15% VAT on the till.

I have tried using the utilities program via my PC (which works with everything else) but will not change the VAT to 17.5% even though it desplays it in the program.

I have tried by directly inputting into the till, but again it will not change.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks..... !Chin

turn the key to the PGM position
Press the ST button followed by 9
Press X on the numeric keypad
Now enter the TAX code associated to the current Vatable rate i.e. 1 for Tax 1 or 2 for Tax 2.
Press X on the numeric keypad
Now enter the VAT rate i.e. 17.5000 – ensure the decimal point is used
Press the X on the numeric keypad followed by ST
Press the TL/NS to exit and turn the key back to the REG position

Hi Peter
Thanks for the reply. I have followed this proceedure from the manual and again from your instructions, & the receipt prints out that it recognises the 17.5%.

However, when I punch in say a £2.00 plu the tax it takes off .30 and not .35
This occurs at that rate all of the time irrespective of the price I punch in. Say £100 it shows the vat as 14.89 and not £17.50

I don't understand whats happening..

Regards and Happy New year

Ralph

Anyone out there... help.

A customer came into the shop today and said our till was only charging 15% instead of 17.5%

I've checked the till again and it reads that it is set to 17.5%.

Is this a problem with the till? Has anybody had this type of problem before?

More importantly... Is there something that I'm not doing? lB

(If you can solve this for me .... an nice donation is on it's way) :D

Thank you

Hi

Looks like you might be making an error trying to calculate the vat.
Deducting 35p from £2.00 will not give you the correct result, as you could only deduct 35p if the total was £2.35

If it was £2.00 + 17.5% then it would be £2.35
If it was £2.00 including VAT then it is £1.70 + 17.5% = £2.00 which is why it shows as £0.30

You can test it by ringing through £2.35 and then it would give you the £0.35 as vat.

Works for the other amount as well

If it was £100.00 + 17.5% then it would be £117.50
If it was £100.00 including VAT then it isabout £85.11 + 17.5% = £100.00 which is why it shows as £14.89

Hope that helps

Dave
