Hello, I'm having some trouble with a Sharp XE-a213.
I have pulled the batteries out for the till to reset, and it did cause all the plu buttons are now on the standard naming, but there are some plu keys like no.22 that gives a beep when I press it, but no plu on the receipt and also no error code on the display..
does anyone know a solution to this problem ?

thanks for helping goes in advance.

Why did you RAM clear it? If you were having keyboard issues, then this is the sort of result I'd expect if you have one of the faulty keyboard membranes that were recalled by Sharp. It often causes the numeric pad to work incorrectly also. Otherwise, the default program may not have any settings for that PLU. Are any other buttons playing up? What happens if you press 1 then that PLU?

Hi, I cleared the ram thinking that perhaps I messed up programing the plu keys.
if I press 1 then that PLU it gives the same beep. The factory plu are loaded for all keys cause if i press plu 36 it shows on receipt but I have trouble with plu key : 22, 29 , 30, 31 , 32 , 33.
34 works and forward up till 44 till 49 again doesn't work. If I have a faulty keyboard membrane can I still get a replacement for it ?

In that case, it does sound a lot like the membrane problem. You now need to contact your Sharp dealer and tell them that random PLUs are not working on the keyboard even after a RAM clear and ask them if it is in the keyboard recall. They usually have a list of serial numbers that were made during the faulty production run so they will look it up. It is common to lose a row or column on the kb when problem occurs, but not always. I've had about five machines in the recall so it is not widespread but you should get onto your dealer.
